Welcome to our study in James! Our Bible study teacher Beth Seifert will lead you through this incredible letter.
Sometime between A.D. 45 and 50, James wrote to the Church of faithful followers of Jesus Christ, teaching them to not just learn, but do. He tells them (and us!), that we can’t be Christian and yet continue living in sin, showing no fruit of righteousness.
The Church was suffering persecution and living in poverty. Believers were in both social and spiritual conflict, and many were living in a worldly lifestyle. James not only corrects them, he challenges them to seek God’s wisdom, to be careful about our words, and to pray sincerely. His letter to the early Church are indeed for us today!
