Advent Day 16Psalm 98:5 Make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing.
Psalm 98:5 Make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing.
Luke 2:8-14 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For He is our God,
and we are the people of His pasture,
and the sheep of His hand.
There is none like you among the gods, O Lord,
nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations you have made shall come
and worship before you, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things;
you alone are God.
Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name;
give to Him glorious praise! Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name.”
